Chapter 23 - Odysseus and Penelope

Summary: (Raina)

Eurycleia comes to tell Penelope that her husband has returned and that he has slain all the Suitors after being told to do so by Odysseus. Penelope refuses to believe it until she has tested him. When she meets him, she tells Eurycleia to move Odysseus's bed outside the bedroom. This was her test and Odysseus passed because he gave a detailed explanation of how he built the bed which was something only he, Penelope, and Actoris, Penelope's old maid, knew. Both she and Odysseus burst into tears in each others arms from their joyful reunion. Afterwards, Penelope asks Odysseus about his deal with Teiresias and he explains his mission. Odysseus tells Penelope about his journey in full details and they soon fall asleep. Athena awakens him and he tells Penelope that he needs to see his father immediately, which Penelope agrees to.
